Ambiguous Syntax.
May. 25th, 2023 09:14 pmI got an email today from an old job with the subject line "Alert - Tempe Campus - A Mountain".
It wasn't until I read the email that I learned that it's a part of the campus which is designated "mountain" with the single-letter "A" title. As in, A Mountain, B Mountain, and so on. The alert was in regards to some activity which took place there and had since been cleared up. All well and good, all solid reasons to alert people still on the email listserve. But there was a brief moment where I wondered why there was an email alert about a mountain, and what a good moment it was while it lasted.
